PLOT SUMMARY:
Hazariprasad (Anupam Kher), a dealer in used goods, and not very wealthy, has sights set up sky-high when he announces that his son, Raja (Aamir Khan) will marry a multi-millionaire's daughter. He masquerades as a wealthy industrialist to fool wealthy Mr. Mehra (Saeed Jaffrey), and does succeed in attempting to get his son engaged to Madhur Verma (Madhuri Dixit), however, at that very engagement ceremony, Mehra finds out about Hazariprasad's masquerade humiliates him, and cancels the engagement. But by that time both Raja and Madhu have fallen in love, but now their respective fathers are determined to stop both at any cost from getting married
